The Parque Genovés in Cádiz is a picturesque and romantic 19th century botanical garden that has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest by the Junta de Andalucía. The park boasts a roughly trapezoidal shape, with its borders marked by the Parador Nacional Atlántico on Jesús Caído street, the seafront through Paseo de Santa Bárbara, Avenida Duque de Nájera, and Paseo de Carlos III through Plaza Rocío Jurado. The Central Walk of the Park is further enhanced by slender date palms and over 150 different species of trees, palms, and shrubs. Visitors will be delighted by various sculptures including the ‘Children under the umbrella’, commonly known as “the fountain of the children of the paragüitas”. There is also a pond with waterfall and grotto which makes it a truly unique place to visit and explore.
