Gibraltar's Rock (or Peñón de Gibraltar), is a popular tourist destination in the south of Spain. Drawing people from all over Europe, this famed landmark has a unique combination of Spanish and British culture. The rock is accessible by cable car, providing gorgeous views for visitors. When at the top, one can visit the 184-meter tall Windmill, affording even greater panoramic spectacles. Those who make the journey to the peak may find themselves face-to-face with some of the native Barbary macaques, aptly nicknamed “rock apes”. Within the region are multiple tunnels that date back to WWI, and Gibraltar's modern museum houses evidence of Neolithic tribes as well as remnants of colonial history. Be sure to take a trip to the Rock when visiting Andalusia, for an experience you won't soon forget!
