Chickens, located in the northernmost part of North Male Atoll in the Maldives, used to be known for its poultry farm until surfers Tony Hussein Hinde and Mark Scanlon discovered its epic left-hand reef break in the 70s. This lively wave is one of the longest in the Maldives, offering barrels that can last over ten seconds if you've got the skills to handle the strong current and zipping lip. Best surfed in the summer months with clean southeast swells, Chickens is a fast wave that gets better with size, a long left-hand wave suitable for beginners & advanced surfers.
