The Hogback is a geological formation located in Utah along Highway 12 that resembles the spine of a hog, hence its name. It's basically a long, narrow ridge that sticks out like a sore thumb in the landscape. Be prepared for drop offs on either side if you're driving, but keep your eyes on the road and it shouldn't be that bad. This is my favorite section of Scenic Byway 12 that runs from Panguitch to Torrey.
