Richmond Bridge in Tasmania is the oldest stone span bridge in Australia, dating back to 1825. Constructed using convict labor, it features four main arches made of sandstone quarried from Butchers Hill. The bridge was originally named Bigge's Bridge after Royal Commissioner John Thomas Bigge. In 2005, it was added to the Australian National Heritage List for its historical significance. Fun fact: A gaoler was murdered at the bridge in 1832, adding a touch of mystery to its rich history.
