Mizen Head is an iconic location off the coast of County Cork in Ireland. Representing the most southern point of mainland Ireland, it boasts extraordinary cliff scenery and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. Home to towering dolerite sills and an old signal station, which now operates as a museum house with displays relating to the sites strategic significance, Mizen Head is a true reward for visitors. The headland also has a bridge that spans a deep chasm and grants access to the lighthouse, museum, and weather station. A full range of visitor facilities are available at the entrance featuring paths, viewing platforms, and of course the iconic 99 steps which were part of the original access route. Taking a trip to Mizen Head won't leave you disappointed- it is a magnificent place full of historical charm and natural beauty.
