Oeschinen Lake is a beautiful and tranquil lake located in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. It stands at an elevation of 1,578 metres. The lake has a maximum depth of 56 metres. An interesting thing about Oeschinen lake is that it was actually created by a giant landslide! In winter, the lake is usually frozen from December until May, when locals can enjoy activities like ice-skating and ice-fishing. HIKE DETAILS:
Start is Luftseilbahn Kandersteg. You have an option to hike up to the lake or take the cable car which will save you some elevation. If you decide to hike, it will take 30 - 45 minutes to reach the lake. Very easy path.
Once you are at the lake you can enjoy a picnic, a boat tour, a hike around the lake.
