The Upsala Glacier is a large valley glacier located on the eastern side of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. Known for its rapid retreat, which has been attributed to global warming, the glacier has been shrinking since it was first documented in 1810.

Its name comes from Uppsala University in Sweden, which sponsored early glaciological studies in the area. The glacier has experienced significant retreat, with its terminus now at the Upsala channel of Lago Argentino.

From the Punta Bandera Port, 47 km from El Calafate, the tour cross along the Northern Arm of Lake Argentino, to the Upsala Channel and sail between the large icebergs that break off from the front of the Upsala Glacier.

Then it passed through the Spegazzini Channel to see the first view of the Seco Glacier. During the tour you will disembark at Spegazzini Base and begin the visit to the area walking through the forest path to the Spegazzini Refuge in a 300-meter path.
