Stuðlagil Canyon, located in Iceland's Jökuldalur valley, is famous for its stunning basalt columns and a mesmerizing turquoise river running through it.
You can visit the canyon from both sides.
WEST SIDE : Here the road will take you the viewing platform which is a good option if you are short on time. However you can not go down to the river from here.
EAST SIDE : From this side you can also access the bottom of the canyon, which offers a little more interesting views in my opinion. To get there you'll cross the bridge down the stream and then drive untill you reach the parking lot from which it is around 4km roundtrip.
Paid Parking on the east side 1.000 isk (Parka app)
