Poke-O-Moonshine Mountain is a great hike to take in the Adirondack Park and the perfect hike for sunrise or for leaf peeping in the fall!
This 2,180-foot peak offers sweeping views of Lake Champlain, the High Peaks Wilderness, and the Jay Range. There's a fire tower at the top but the cab is only open in the summer.
Not only does Poke-O-Moonshine provide stunning views, it also hosts an abundance of wildlife and features one of the largest exposed rock faces in the region. With its rocky cliffs providing habitat for peregrine falcons and rock climbers.
The hike isn't overly difficult but some sections of the trail are steep and have wooden stairs and ladders in place, which could be challenging for some people.
