Barrier Lake is a popular spot in Kananaskis, not too far from Calgary. I like to go to the parking lot near the boathouse cause it's less busy than the main day use area. It's open May 1 - Oct 14. There's a rocky shore, sandy beach, and also a grassy area. There's a boathouse where you can rent canoes, kayaks, and SUP boards.
