Þrídrangaviti Rock Islets, off the coast of mainland Iceland, is a collection of slender and rugged rocks that jut out to the ocean's surface like fingers stretching upward. The largest of these rocks holds an incredibly lonely lighthouse, built in 1938 by brave builders who scaled the cliff to reach its desolate pinnacle. Maintenance workers today can visit the Þrídrangaviti lighthouse by helicopter - but with one false step, explorers could find themselves tumbling into the cold North Atlantic waters below. This remote setting has earned it some internet fame as public imagination views the lighthouse as a haven for introverts. Together, the wild beauty of the rock pillars and the charming red-roofed lighthouse make this spot akin to a spectacular postcard, a well-preserved reminder of Iceland's wild past perfect for daydreamers, adventurers, and appreciators of natural beauty alike.
