Trastevere is a vibrant neighborhood located across the Tiber River in Rome. This medieval district is known for its stunning cobbled lanes, ochre-colored palaces, and ivy-clad facades. It's bustling nightlife offers locals and tourists alike a myriad of places to eat, drink, and be merry. With its rustic charm and famous landmarks like Basilica di Santa Maria, Galleria Corsini, Villa Farnesina and more, Trastevere has plenty for all kinds to see and do whether it be during the day or after dark.
I really enjoy strolling through its characteristic narrow streets and discovering new corners of this beautiful area. On the map, I've marked some of my favorites, just to give you an idea of which direction to head. I've often visited this area in June when the bougainvillea is in bloom, enhancing the beauty of the area with its intense fuchsia color. I highly recommend Trastevere as a place to stay; there are countless things to do, and it's perfect for evening outings.
