Qasr Bashir, also known as Q’Sar Bashir, is a Roman fortress in the Jordanian desert that has managed to stay pretty much intact since the fourth century AD. It was built to defend the Arabian frontier and housed soldiers who kept the peace in the area. Today, visitors can explore the well-preserved ruins and get a real sense of what life was like on the edge of the Roman Empire. Plus, it's a hidden gem for history buffs and fans of ancient architecture. Just make sure you have a 4WD to get there, as it's pretty remote!
