The Hermit Trail is a short and steep summer hiking path up to beautiful subalpine area in Glacer National Park. The switchbacks are a killer but it's worth the effort.
With the trailhead being situated right on Highway 1, the Hermit Trail is very convenient for intermediate or experienced hikers looking for a half day hike with easy access.
The trail is 6.4km return with 820m elevation gain (super steep!) - definitely don't take this one lightly. There is a backcountry Parks Canada campground located at the top, with reservations opening in January each year.
A Parks Canada parks pass is required to hike the Hermit Trail ($22/day for a vehicle with up to 7 people).
