The Benito Quinquela Martín Museum in Buenos Aires is free museum (donations recommended, bring cash) dedicated the artist who brought La Boca neighborhood to life with his colorful works.
Located on the waterfront just steps from the Caminito, this museum showcases Quinquela's art along with works from other Argentine artists, including figureheads from ships and play spaces for children.
I 100% recommend making time to visit this museum. Quinquela dedicated his wealth to La Boca, the neighborhood that raised him and embraced him as an adopted orphan turned artist. He purchased this land and gave it back to the barrio - resulting in a theater and a school. He kept the upper floors for his workshop and small residence (which you can see in tact in the museum today).
