The Museo de la Imaginación y el Juego (MIJU) in Buenos Aires is a fun and interactive space designed for kids aged 0 to 12. The name translates to the Museum of Imagination and Play.

Note: It's temporarily closed for maintenance. Sorry!

Visiting isn't as straightforward as just walking up and getting a ticket. Visits are organized in hour time slots and you need to reserve yours in advance. There are three separate play areas by age: 0-3 years, 4-7 years, and 8-12 years.

You'll pay online with your card, the entrance costs (at the moment) around the equivalent of $10 US. Wednesdays are free but you still need to book your ticket online in advance.

Each child needs to be accompanied by an adult so it can be tricky if you have kids in different age slots, make sure to bring two adults along if that's the case.

Outside there's a great playground in complete shade and with picnic tables if you bring snacks. You can enjoy the playground outside of your time slot hours so come early or stay afterwards to enjoy it.

Fun fact: This is a historical building! It was built in 1927 as the Munich Brewery. For a while it also housed the museum of La Historieta (comic strips). It's an architectural treasure on the Costanera, you'll notice it's history because it has absolutely nothing to do with the massive skyscrapers that surround it today.
