La Plata is the capital city of the Buenos Aires province. Founded in 1882, it was designed with a unique layout of diagonal streets, earning it the nickname "city of diagonals".
The most important landmark is the neo-Gothic cathedral, but you can also visit the a Corbusier home, the natural science museum and a beautiful park, el Paseo del Bosque.
For football fans, the city is also home to two top-tier football teams and the Estadio Único Diego Armando Maradona.
