Peskesi is the definition of a quality dining experience. It's located in the heart of Heraklion. What is particular about it is the fact that all the ingredients and the food is homegrown, harvested in their farm and bought from local farmers and fishermen. Their philosophy revolves around highlighting and reviving traditional Cretan recipes, raw materials and ingredients which they very meticulously grow and preserve in their farm.
Their farm is located in the area of Hersonissos and boasts more than 120 different vegetables and fruits in its 30 acres of land. The menu showcases traditional Cretan cuisine with a modern twist, using only the freshest ingredients. From mouthwatering "meze" platters to delicate grilled meats seasoned with local herbs and flavorful vegetarian options, Peskesi definitely stands out.
Whenever I find myself in Heraklion, I will almost always dine at Peskesi as it's perfectly combined with the exploration of the city.
