These waterfalls are near the west end of Lake Lungern. They are a short walk from the parking area and campground. We usually visit these falls while hiking around the whole lake - see trail map.
How to reach the falls
You can easily see the falls from a distance, as shown in my pictures. But when you get close, the falls are hidden in the forest. Watch for the trail sign right when you reach the forest so you don't miss the turn off. There are trail signs point you to each of the fall lookouts. See location on Google maps.
There are two sections of the falls. You can reach the lower falls Diesselbachwith a very short walk through the forest on an easy dirt path, about 2 mins. You can get very close to the water, but be careful and don't get too close!
The upper falls Dundelbachare reached by a separate footpath that climbs up the mountain a bit, about 10 mins. That path is a bit steep in parts and quite muddy and slippery when we went. If you feel uncomfortable on this upper path, don't stress. The lower falls are still very beautiful and you aren't missing so much.
