Heart Mountain is a classic easy scramble in just outside Dead Man's Flats. It's one of the first mountains to become snow free in the spring and since it's accessible off the TransCanada it's a very popular mountain to climb with locals. The 13.5-kilometer loop trail involves technical climbing and scrambling, making it unsuitable for beginners. With proper preparation, including hiking boots, bear spray, water, food, warm clothes, and a helmet, hikers can conquer this difficult but exhilarating adventure. Just remember to follow the orange and blue markers, take it slow on the steep sections, and enjoy the epic views along the way!
