We didn’t have time to squeeze it in during our last trip, but the Saadian Tombs are high on our list for next time. Everything we’ve read and seen makes it feel like stepping into a secret chapter of Moroccan history.

This royal necropolis dates back to the Saadian dynasty and is known for its ornate tombstones, delicate marble carvings, and rich tile work. Commissioned during the reign of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur, the complex features two main structures, including the famous Hall of Twelve Columns. Though the tombs were sealed off for centuries, they were rediscovered in 1917 and have since become a must-visit site for history lovers in Marrakech.

If you're into beautiful architecture and quiet, sacred spaces, this seems like one of those underrated gems you don’t want to miss.
