The Bayan Ancient Tree in Bali, also known as Kayu Putih (“White Wood”) or the ‘Kapok tree’ is an incredible sight. Not only is it believed to be one of Bali’s oldest and biggest trees; locals also say it is over 50 metres tall and 700 years old. With its majestic trunk, this sacred tree is a great spot for taking pictures and admiring nature. The Kayu Putih tree is located in Bayan Banjar, in Bali’s Tabanan regency, and can be reached by hiring a private car with an English speaking driver or renting a scooter.
