Located on the border with Myanmar and close to the town of Ranong, Koh Phayam is a little paradise still preserved. This small island without great infrastructure does not appear in the most famous travel guides and is a reflection of what Thailand was once like for the first backpackers.
Koh Phayam has incredible small beaches: Ao Khao in the northwest, Ao Yai in the southwest.
You can also visit Wat Koh Phayam, the
only temple on the island which is build on the water.
Last interesting spot would be Hippy
Bar at Aow Kao Kwai Buffalo Bay. It's a huge bar built as a pirate boat made of wood, I found it very cool!
