Ueno Park in Tokyo is a cool mix of history, nature, and culture all rolled into one awesome park. Originally part of a temple destroyed during the Boshin War, it's now home to museums, a zoo, temples, and even a pond with an island temple. With over 1000 cherry trees, it's also a top spot for hanami parties in spring. So whether you're into art, history, or just chilling under cherry blossoms, Ueno Park has got you covered! Free to entry with fee for renting the boats (Swan, row and cycle). Lines for boat hire start early in the day especially during high season. You can even head to Ueno Zoo nearby!
The rental service starts at 700 yen and is open between 10.00 and 18.00 (earlier around 9 am during high season) and closed between December and February.
