Skútafoss, also known as the Hidden Waterfall, is a charming and lesser-known waterfall tucked away in East Iceland. Located in the Þorgeirsstaðadalur valley, this hidden gem surprises visitors with its elegant beauty and unique setting. The waterfall flows from the Þorgeirsstaðaá river and features a cave on its right side, adding to its allure. Visitors can walk behind the waterfall and even stand on the roof of the cave for different perspectives of this double waterfall. With plans for future development in the area, including a footbridge and campsite, Skútafoss is definitely worth a visit for those exploring the stunning landscapes of East Iceland.
