Tiu Kelep Waterfall in Lombok is a stunning sight that can be reached via a 30-minute hike from Senaru village. The hike itself is an adventure, with beautiful scenery along the way, and at one point, you’ll need to walk through the water. I recommend bringing water shoes if you have them, as well as mosquito spray.
It's not necessary to hire a local guide, but if you're interested, there are many guides at the entrance offering their services for around 150K IDR ($10). Some may try to overcharge, asking as much as 500K IDR, but we stayed nearby and asked our guesthouse for the normal price.
For around 150K IDR ($10) for two people, you can go tubing down the water cave system. You’ll pass this spot on your hike to the waterfall and can take the tubing trip on your way back. The guides will carry your belongings for you to collect afterward. The ride is only about 5 minutes, but we found it to be a unique experience.
Important: The hike includes some stairs, so it's best suited for those who are physically fit. Be mindful of the monkeys in the area and avoid walking around with food.
