The Chimney Rock Loop Trail packs some big elevation gain in a relatively short hike. It’s a fantastic option if you’re short on time or are just passing through Capitol Reef and are looking to get your blood pumping. The views of Capitol Reef from the top of the Chimney Rock Loop Trail are breathtaking, so it’s worth the climb.

Difficulty: Moderate-difficult (6.5-7.5/10)
Estimated Hike Time: 1 ½-2 hours
Fee: $20/vehicle or use an America the Beautiful or other federal recreation pass. Capitol Reef National Park doesn’t have an entrance booth, but you could be asked by NPS staff to show your pass.
