Viermal täglich bahnen sich gewaltige Wassermassen ihren Weg durch die nur 150 Meter schmale Meerenge im Saltstraumen. Dabei werden 400 Millionen Kubikmetern Wasser mit ca. 13 km/h in und aus dem Fjord gepresst. Dort wo die Strömung am stärksten ist, entstehen riesige, tanzende Strudel - ein wahres Naturspektakel!

Unser Tipp für dich: Die absolut perfekte Zeit für einen Besuch ist rund um einen Neumond oder Vollmond und bis zu drei Tage danach. Dann ist der Gezeitenstrom am stärken und der Unterschied zwischen Ebbe und Flut kann bis zu drei Meter betragen!
