Whether you're a lover of gardens, history, or simply want to experience the natural beauty of Lake Como, this picturesque garden should be at the top of your list when visiting Bellagio. Let’s dive into everything you need to know to make your visit to Giardini di Villa Melzi unforgettable. 🌅✨

This exquisite garden stretches along the lakeshore, offering breathtaking views of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains. From the Piazza San Giacomo (the town's central square), it’s just a short 5-minute walk to the entrance of the garden.

What there is to see & do 📝

Stroll Through the Historic Gardens 🌿

As you walk through the garden’s paths, you’ll be surrounded by lush greenery, towering trees, vibrant flowers, and tranquil lakeside views. The garden's design features a mix of English-style parkland and Italian classical garden elements, making it a perfect blend of formality and natural beauty.

Neoclassical Architecture of Villa Melzi 🏛️

The villa itself is an architectural masterpiece, designed by Giuseppe Piermarini, the same architect behind the famous La Scala Opera House in Milan. While the villa is not open to the public, you can still admire its elegant exterior from the garden. The villa features neoclassical architecture with ornate columns and sculptures, adding to the historical charm of the area.

The Boathouse and Sculptures 🚤🗿

The lakeside boathouse and several neoclassical sculptures scattered throughout the garden make it a delightful place to explore. These include ancient Egyptian statues and Greek-style sculptures, adding to the classical ambiance. The boathouse itself is picturesque and perfectly placed for taking photos with the stunning backdrop of Lake Como.

The Peaceful Orangery 🍊🌸

Another peaceful spot within the garden is the Orangery—a beautiful greenhouse filled with tropical plants and citrus trees.
