Shifen Waterfall, located in Pingxi district of New Taipei City, is Taiwan's most famous and visited waterfall. It may not be as massive as Niagara Falls, but it still impresses with its 20-meter tall and 40-meter wide curtain-like cascade. The waterfall gets its name from the nearby Shifen village, where you can find Shifen Old Street just a short walk away.
While the touristy nature of the viewing area and the crowds can be a bit overwhelming, the beauty of the waterfall itself is undeniable. So, if you're up for some adventure and don't mind sharing the experience with other visitors, Shifen Waterfall is definitely worth a visit.
