Icelandic volcanic playground by lake

Message from Aron Tómas Guðmannsson

Námshraun is a mixed lava field in Iceland that surrounds Frostastaðavatn lake. It's like a volcanic playground with evidence of past eruptions from the Torfajökull and Bárðarbunga systems. You can see cool lava flows of different compositions reaching down to the lake's shore. It's basically nature's way of showing off its fiery side right next to a serene lake.

Highland location, can´t be accessed in winter!
