Bjargtangar Lighthouse is the westernmost building in Europe and overlooks the fantastic westfjords of Iceland, giving it an important role in navigational aid for seafarers. The lighthouse was first built in 1913, with a 6m tall concrete square prism building featuring a white exterior with a lantern-crowned top. It has a characteristic Fl(3) W 15 s. that illuminates up to 200 feet and was first lit in 1948. Every traveler visiting Iceland must take a visit to the iconic Bjargtangar Lighthouse as it offers unforgettable views of the breathtaking Icelandic nature as well as a look at the beautiful architectural features.
