Hakone Shrine, nestled at the foot of Mount Hakone by Lake Ashinoko, is a serene Shinto shrine surrounded by lush forest. Its iconic torii gates, including one standing in the lake, make it easy to spot. Take a peaceful stroll through the lantern-lined path to the main building, which looks especially enchanting when shrouded in mist. If you want to take pictures here be aware that you need to get here as early as possible as the torii inside the lake is notoriously crowded and waiting times are often 1-2 hours.
