Magome-juku is my favourite post town on the Nakasendo road, offering a glimpse into 17th-century Japan. With its cobbled streets, traditional houses, and stunning views of the Nakasendo, it's like stepping back in time. If you come here by taxi, tell the driver to drop you off at the "end" of the town, which is the picturesque viewpoint at the top of the hill. That way, you avoid the steep ascend! However, if you arrive by bus, it can't be helped as the bus stop is at the base of the town. It is absolutely worth it as I loved this town so much! Make sure to arrive here not much later than noon, as most shops are already closed by 4pm.
