You might already know that Matsumoto Castle is my FAVOURITE castle in Japan so it obviously needed to be mentioned here too. Nicknamed the crow castle, it is the only castle in Japan with complete intact interior that you can all visit and walk through! For a Japanese history nerd like me, it is perfect. Make sure to go for sunset and don't miss the view from the tower over Matsumoto and the Japanese Alps! There are also many seasonal events being held at this castle. In spring and autumn you'll get rewarded by cherry blossoms and red maple leaves as well. Matsumoto Castle truly has it all 🥹🩷
