Eryn's Tips:
If you are able to, I would HIGHLY recommend a trip to Tombstone. It is my favourite place on the entire planet and I try to go at least once a year.
There is no service so make sure you have a satellite phone or are letting people know where you'll be going!
The Dempster is a highway so treat it like one! I have seen so many tourists park their car in the middle of the road to take photos because it seems like some back road that nobody uses. There are many semi trucks that go super fast on this highway and parking your car on corners or not pulling off is extremely dangerous!
There is a gas station at the beginning of the Dempster and I would recommend filling up before heading to Tombstone! The next closest gas station on the highway is at Eagle Plains which is many hours up the road and very out of the way if you aren't planning to drive that far north.
If you are going to hike in Tombstone, there are many different trail options or you can just park your car and start walking! If you decide to hike off a trail and are a group, spread out so you aren't creating damage to the landscape!
