Coastal rock pool with folklore

Message from Dani Guindo

Brimketill lava rock pool, located on the Reykjanes Peninsula in Iceland, is a unique coastal rock pool with a fascinating folklore backstory. Legend has it that it was once used by a giantess or troll named Oddný for bathing and washing clothes. The pool's basin-like shape was formed by coastal erosion from powerful waves crashing against the rocks. While it may look inviting in photos, it's not recommended to swim in due to sharp, slippery rocks and unpredictable weather conditions. Nearby attractions include geothermal areas, birdwatching cliffs, and the famous Blue Lagoon spa. So, if you're exploring the Reykjanes Peninsula, make sure to check out this intriguing natural wonder!
