Emstruleið, also known as F261 Road in Iceland, is a challenging 23-mile dirt track that cuts through the stunning black ash desert of Mælifellssandur. This road is not for the faint of heart, with rough terrain, large stones, and tricky river crossings along the way. Only 4-wheel-drive vehicles with high clearance should attempt this adventurous drive, especially during the summer months when it's open. So, buckle up and get ready for a wild ride through some of Iceland's most breathtaking landscapes on Emstruleið!
