Message from Dani Guindo

Hofskirkja is a charming turf church located in the Öræfi region of South-East Iceland. It's one of only six remaining turf churches in the country and the last one built in this traditional style. The church has a history dating back 700 years, with the current structure being built in the late 19th century. Inside, you'll find a beautifully painted interior, Danish tin candle-lights, and unique hardware made by a local blacksmith. While the church is now closed to the public, it remains a gem of Icelandic heritage and a must-see for history buffs and architecture enthusiasts.
