Okay, so Cape Egmont Lighthouse is a bit of a detour, but if you're into photography or just appreciate a good view, it's worth it. Imagine the perfect sunrise or sunset shot with Mount Taranaki in the background and the lighthouse right there in the foreground, it’s a pretty stunning scene. The lighthouse itself is pretty cool, too, as it’s been guiding ships safely along the coast since 1881, so it’s got some history.

To get there, you can’t park right next to the lighthouse, but it’s not too tricky. Just head to the end of Cape Road, where you’ll find a dirt area by the ocean to park. From there, it’s a super short walk (maybe 100–200 meters) to the lighthouse. Whether you’re snapping pics or just enjoying the vibes, this spot is a peaceful little escape and a great place to appreciate the beauty of the coast.
