This amazing short walk in the Coromandel starts at Whiritoa Lagoon then heads over to Waimama Bay, and then heads up over the hill to a grassy lookout over Papakura Bay.

To start the walk you will need to cross over the Whiritoa Lagoon (be prepared to get a little wet at mid-high tide) to where the Waimama Recreation Reserve track starts. You'll see a sign "Waimama Reserve" and that is where the track starts.

You'll head up and over into Waimama Bay which is absolutely beautiful and worth a stop for a bite to eat or a swim. At Waimama Bay you will see a farm fence and some trees that head up towards farm land. You'll need to hop over that fence by the trees, then walk up the hill and follow the trail by the farm fence until you get to the lookout.

Photography info: This spot works best at golden hour and sunrise and sunset. Take your wide angle or mid range zoom lens.
