🇬🇧 Get ready to land on another planet, between lava fields and a unique volcanic landscape that was created just 300 years ago.

This area is a National Park and takes its name from Timanfaya, the city that was submerged by lava during the 1730 eruption which lasted 7 years. The park has at least 25 cones of different sizes and is the only area still active on the island.

Unfortunately, the tour between the volcanoes can only be done by bus and takes about 40 minutes but it is absolutely worth it because what you will see is unique!

Here you will see various demonstrations and there is also the famous restaurant where the meat is cooked with the heat of the subsoil, the quality is good but the prices are high being a highly touristic place.

The park is open from 9 to 17 but the last entrance is at 15:45 (be careful that they close a little when they want!). My advice is to enter around 3pm to avoid the crowds, if instead you want to go in the morning, I recommend getting in line for entry immediately before opening (between 8:30 and 8:45) because then it creates a line that reaches halfway down the street and as soon as the parking lots finish, they close the entrance to the cars. Useful tip: for the bus tour, the seats to the right of the direction of travel are those with the best view.

Inside the park is the famous Restaurante El Diablo where the meat is cooked with volcanic heat, it's not very cheap but the meat is good!

🇮🇹 Preparatevi ad atterrare su un altro pianeta, tra distese di lava ed un paesaggio vulcanico unico che si è creato appena 300 anni fa.

Questa zona è Parco Nazionale e prende il nome da Timanfaya, la città che è stata sommersa dalla lava durante l'eruzione del 1730 che durò ben 7 anni. Il parco conta almeno 25 coni di diverse dimensioni ed è l'unica zona ancora attiva dell'isola.

Purtroppo il giro tra i vulcani si può fare solo in pullman (e anche qui la guida è in tutte le lingue tranne l'italiano) e dura circa 40 minuti ma vale assolutamente la pena perché quello che vedrete è unico!

Sempre qui vedrete varie dimostrazioni e c'è anche il famoso ristorante in cui viene cucinata la carne con il calore del sottosuolo, la qualità è buona ma i prezzi sono alti essendo un luogo altamente turistico.

Il parco è aperto dalle 9 alle 17 ma l'ultimo ingresso è alle 15:45 (occhio che chiudono un po' quando vogliono!). Il mio consiglio è di entrare intorno alle 15 per evitare la ressa, se invece volete andare la mattina mi raccomando mettetevi in fila per l'ingresso subito prima dell'apertura (tra le 8:30 e le 8:45) perché poi si crea una fila che arriva fino a metà della strada e ad appena finiscono i parcheggi chiudono l'ingresso alle auto. Tip utile: per il giro in pullman i posti a destra rispetto al senso di marcia sono quelli con la vista migliore.

All'interno del parco c'è il famoso Restaurante El Diablo dove la carne viene cotta con il calore vulcanico, non è molto economico ma la carne è buona!
