Completely ochre-colored, it is inhabited by just under 250 inhabitants. Mdina is the ancient capital of Malta before the arrival of the knights who moved it to Birgu (Vittoriosa) and is one of the best preserved and fascinating cities in Europe. It is an absolutely wonderful city that seems frozen in time, which is why it was used for many Game of Thrones filming! It is located in the northern part of the island. Visiting the old town of Mdina means getting lost in the maze of quiet streets and the old noble palaces of the village.
