This traditional Maltese fishing village on the island's east coast is practically a dream: hundreds of historic, colorful boats with painted eyes fill the harbor. It was a very special moment to float among all the boats and admire the town from the water, an experience not to be missed.

It is famous for its market and typical boats called Luzzu. Marsaxlokk was one of the places we were most excited to visit. Unfortunately, we were not able to take a boat ride around the cave because of bad weather, but our advice is to stroll along the waterfront to learn more about the culture of this picturesque village. We were amazed to see fishermen getting on and off their boats, washing nets and cleaning fish. The images of the gentlemen sitting on chairs talking quietly conveyed a kind of serenity to us.

🇮🇹 Questo tradizionale villaggio di pescatori maltese sulla costa orientale dell'isola è praticamente un sogno: centinaia di storiche barche colorate, con gli occhietti dipinti, riempiono il porto. È stato un momento davvero speciale galleggiare tra tutte le barche e ammirare la città dall'acqua, un'esperienza imperdibile.

E' famoso per il suo mercato e le sue imbarcazioni tipiche chiamate Luzzu. Marsaxlokk era uno dei posti che eravamo più entusiasti di visitare. Purtroppo, non siamo riusciti a fare un giro in barca intorno alla grotta a causa del maltempo, ma il nostro consiglio è di passeggiare sul lungomare per conoscere a fondo la cultura di questo pittoresco villaggio. Siamo rimasti sorpresi nel vedere i pescatori salire e scendere dalle loro imbarcazioni, lavare le reti e pulire il pesce. Le immagini dei signori seduti sulle sedie a parlare in tranquillità ci hanno trasmesso una sorta di serenità.
