Bukhara is truly unique. Walking through the arches, bazaars carved out of ancient caravanserais, and domes of the old city makes you feel like you're going back in time, but with a modern twist. The architecture of Bukhara is extraordinary, a rarity in our modern metropolises. The skill and craftsmanship in the construction of the minarets, domes, and walls left us in awe.

But why is Bukhara so famous? Because of the carpets. Why are carpets expensive? Threads are made into mats and designed according to these images they have in front of them all the time. It should be mentioned that some mats can cost $80,000. It could take as long as 3 years to create a mat. When you think about prices, think about time, energy, detail, precision 85% of the money you pay for the mat is labor!

We didn't find it 100% authentic, perhaps because the souvenir shops and hotels have completely taken over the old city, but it's still a genuine place. We recommend you to take at least 2 days to fully experience Bukhara as there are also interesting places to visit near the historic center of the city. Fun fact: Bukhara was the city where Matteo and Marco Polo lived for three years (1261-64) before reaching China.

Comunque non l'abbiamo trovata autentica al 100%, forse perché i souvenir shop e gli hotel hanno completamente divorato la città vecchia ma è pur sempre un luogo genuino. Ti consigliamo di prenderti almeno 2 giorni per vivere appieno Bukhara poiché ci sono anche luoghi interessanti da visitare vicino al centro storico della città.
