Tucked away just off lower King Street, Bar 167 brings a chic Mediterranean twist to Charleston’s dining scene. With flavors inspired by the Mediterranean and a focus on local and East Coast seafood, it’s the kind of place that works for everything from a quick snack to a lively evening with friends. Unlike its sister restaurant, 167 Raw, Bar 167 accepts reservations, making it a stress-free option when you’re craving something exceptional.

What’s the crowd like?

A mix of stylish locals and in-the-know visitors fills the tables and bar. The vibe strikes a balance between NYC cool and Charleston ease, with small groups and couples enjoying bites and drinks late into the evening.

Drinks to order:

The cocktails are just as creative as the menu, crafted to pair perfectly with the coastal, Mediterranean-inspired dishes.

  • Fulton Street Ricky – A refreshing mix of gin, mint, cucumber, lime, and ginger that’s light, crisp, and dangerously drinkable.

  • Tzatziki Cocktail – Vodka, cucumber juice, dill, and lemon make this boozy twist on the classic dip unexpected yet surprisingly delicious.

  • If cocktails aren’t your thing, there’s also a small but well-curated wine list and local beer options.

Food to try:

The menu is seafood-forward, fresh, and downright addictive.

  • Caviar Cones – Creamy, crunchy, salty, and luxurious in every bite. These are an absolute must-order.

  • Raw Oysters – Always pristine and briny, served with a light touch of accoutrements to let the oysters shine.

  • Shrimp Cocktail – A simple classic done right, with perfectly poached shrimp and a zesty dipping sauce.

  • Mediterranean Small Plates – Depending on the season, you might find light, herbaceous salads or roasted vegetables with bold, bright flavors.

What’s the vibe?

Upstairs, the illuminated bar counter sets a moody, sophisticated tone—think NYC meets Nantucket. For those who prefer the open air, a small patio offers a charming option for outdoor seating. Whether inside or out, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and effortlessly cool.

What’s the real reason to visit?

Bar 167 is a spot where great food, fantastic cocktails, and a welcoming vibe come together seamlessly. Whether you’re indulging in a late-night drink, splitting small plates with friends, or enjoying a leisurely afternoon snack, it’s a place you’ll want to linger and return to again and again. The caviar cones alone are worth the trip!
