⚠️ Note: The Trift cable car is being renovated and will not open until end of June 2025 at the earliest.
This long suspension bridge stretches over a 100m tall gorge cut by the Trift glacier. From the bridge, you can see what's left of the glacier and a small lake below it.
Bridge: 100m long, 100m high, 80cm wide
Hike: moderate • 2h40 round trip • 2.75 km each way • 360m up & down • See trail map.
Location: Trift cable car - Sustenstrasse, 3863 Gadmen. From Interlaken, about 45 mins by car, 1h10 by train/bus.
Open: usually mid June to late October
To reach the bridge, you ride a little cable car up the mountain. Then a tough, but short hike up a rocky path, about 90 mins to the viewpoint and bridge.
The bridge is very well built and safe to cross, but still many people feel scared and don't want to cross it. On the other side, you can take great photos of the bridge with the river below it.
