Alta Ski Area is a popular ski resort located in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. It opened for skiing in 1939 and has since become one of the oldest resorts in the United States. The ski area is well-known for its exceptional snow conditions, breathtaking slopes, and thrilling terrain. With over 2,614 acres (10.58 km2) of skiable area, Alta offers 15% beginner runs, 30% intermediate runs, and 55% advanced runs. The resort also features 7 chairlifts and 5 surface tows, along with an Axess RFID electronic lift ticket system. For those looking to experience all that Alta has to offer, the ski area offers a joint day pass and joint season ticket with its neighbor, Snowbird.
