When traveling to Switzerland I would recommend buying the Swiss Travel Pass. It is a great way to see the country and Swiss Trains are usally quite reliable, clean and on time.
It is only available to those living OUTSIDE the country and must be purchased ahead of time. This can be a HUGE savings. as the Swiss Travel Pass includes: Unlimited travel on trains, buses and boats. There are extra charges to go up the Mountains but many offer 50% off when you have the Swiss Travel Pass.
